 | | | | At the college we met up with Michael Lennard, the Religious Education
Co-ordinator, and Sister. Clare who assists with all Religious Education
activities. Michael helped us unload the stand and Cross and to position them in
the beautiful chapel of the college. Michael had prepared a structured liturgy
including scripture readings, prayers of intercession, and the hymn “Behold the
Wood of the Cross”. He had also arranged for class groups to attend the chapel
between 9.00 and 11.00 AM to participate in the liturgy and view/touch the
Cross. He certainly had done a very thorough preparation for which we were very
grateful. Being a Josephite college, it was obvious that the staff were excited
about the visit of the Cross. We participated in the first group liturgy led by Michael and then stood by as
eight different groups (15-20 in each) came through with their teachers between
9.00 and 11.00 AM. It was very gratifying to see the attention of the students
and the prayerful way in which they and the teachers conducted the liturgy and
revered the Cross. During the morning a small number of visitors from the Queen
of Peace Parish attended - they were pleased to have been invited and were
impressed with the occasion.

 | | | | | | After the last group of students at around 11.00 AM, Michael
helped us convey the Cross/stand back to the van and secure everything.
Contemplating the morning’s events we felt a sense of pleasure and
satisfaction with everything that had occurred at Mount St. Joseph’s, in
particular the contribution by the college staff and students and their
enthusiasm for the coming canonisation of Mary MacKillop. Recognition of the
Knights’ efforts during the liturgy was a thoughtful touch by Michael
Lennard and gave us a ‘boost’. The school photographer, Tina Pignatelli, took some pictures during the
    liturgies.
